Terminal Locations

Greenup, Illinois

image008.jpgMTI’s main repair facility is located in Greenup, Illinois. Greenup is located approximately 17 miles east of the I-55 and I-70 split in Effingham, Illinois. Effingham is located on I-57 and I-70 between St. Louis, MO. and Terre Haute, Indiana or approximately 4 hours south of Chicago. The facility has room for 18 tractors, two trailers plus a thru-bay along with a detail shop and tire shop. MTI rebuilds trailers as well as all facets of repair to tractors. Trailers as well as tractors are routed through Greenup for major repairs as well as preventative maintenance. Approximately 40 mechanics, etc. work in this facility that is open 24 hours per day 5 days per week.

This facility is headed by Bob Tucker. He is over the shop area and is very proficient in purchasing. In addition to maintenance two tow units operate out of this facility. This facility also has a cross dock.

MTI is fortunate to have the professional mechanics available in this area to provide the major service to over 500 power units and over 600 trailers.

Tampa, Florida

Tampa is MTI’s newest facility. The location is near the docks on US 50 in Tampa and is located there due to the closeness to the USPS facility. This location is managed by Juan Amador. The location has over 100 employees working out of and/or reporting to the Tampa facility. Tampa is 100% US Mail and does not have any general freight. Tampa is a company owned facility as MTI expects growth in this area in the future. This facility hires and manages the driving staff as well as general maintenance issues on tractors and trailers. It has a tire shop and a service truck. Tampa has numerous local mail routes as well as long hauls to other states. Therefore, it has a mix of drivers that are home every day as well as those on the long hauls.

Dunn, North Carolina

This facility is located off I-95 and is managed by Stanley Howell. Stanley is an experienced manager with over 25 years in the business. Dunn is a repair facility as well as having responsibility for approximately 75 drivers. Dunn is responsible for the hiring and discipline issues for the 75 drivers. Stanley also manages the Washington, D.C. area from this location with an additional 25 drivers. This facility does general maintenance for tractors and trailers and has a tire shop, a service truck and a tow truck.

Buffalo, New York

buffalo-terminal.jpgBuffalo is a facility that has been upgraded from a small one bay facility in the past 18 months to a three bay facility. Buffalo is managed by Rob Straker who has over 10 years in the business. The Buffalo facility in addition to general maintenance, a service truck and a tire shop is responsible for 70 drivers. MTI operates US mail out of this facility and we cycle the tractors and trailers into this facility for general repairs. MTI continues to gain volume in this area so the new larger facility is allowing us to facilitate that growth!

Barkeyville, Pennsylvania

picture-005.jpgThis facility is located on I-80 approximately one hour outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. The location manager is James Halloran. In addition to the general maintenance on tractors and trailers, this location has a service truck as well as a tow unit. There are approximately 110 drivers that report to this facility. MTI has considerable mail routes in and out of the Pittsburgh area. This facility is a major location for trading out equipment with Greenup as it has routes that run by Greenup thereby allowing for the trade out of equipment.

Stillwater, Oklahoma

000_0185.JPGStillwater is a freight operation for MTI and is managed by Don Harmon. Don is a seasoned veteran on handling freight and is known through-out the Southwest as one that can deliver the freight on time and will do what he says he will do. MTI operates both freight and a brokerage out of this location. Don and his staff are responsible for approximately 20 tractors as well as brokering more units from other MTI locations and outside operators.

Memphis, Tennessee

Memphis is a new location for MTI and is managed by James Rhodes. James is relatively new to the management world but brings a lot of enthusiasm and a great work ethic to the assignment. MTI operates around 60 units out of Memphis on both local mail routes as well as long hauls! Memphis has a service truck. This operation has gone from 10 tractors to 60 in one year so this location has been a challenge for MTI. However, even with the short time span the operation is working well. MTI is hopeful that this location will continue to grow!

Buckeye Lake, Ohio

This location is managed by John Bruyer and has approximately 40 mail drivers. MTI has a working agreement for maintenance and parking with Local Trucking at this location. Local does general maintenance as well as tires for MTI. We rotate the equipment to Greenup for the major issues as well as the preventative maintenance.

Greencastle, Indiana - Freight Operation Greencastle, Indiana

This is a freight operation managed by Dale Detro. Dale has approximately 30 drivers and is responsible for the drivers and the logistics of the equipment. Dale has 10 years of management experience. This operation has two customers and both customers are dedicated loads outbound and in bound.

Other Locations

picture-131.jpgMTI has other locations such as Des Moines, Iowa, with 30 drivers managed by Keith Hammers; Indianapolis, Indiana with 15 drivers managed by Jason Richardson; and Carlisle, Pennsylvania with Tommy Shoemaker.  There are additional locations where MTI has driver supervisors. These individuals drive on a route and also manage the equipment, handling the scheduled maintenance and scheduling the drivers. Without all the dedicated individuals at the terminals and other locations and the driver supervisors, MTI could not be successful. Our biggest resource is our drivers. Without the drivers delivering the mail on time and servicing the freight customers, MTI would not exist. People make it happen at MTI.
